Acknowledging our First Nations communities is an integral part of RCH150.

Celebrate. Create. Connect. acknowledges all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, pays tribute to the role they’ve played in the history of the hospital, and the importance of reconciliation – while creating a culturally significant legacy for our community and our great hospital.

This important morning will take place at the beginning of National Reconciliation Week and will feature the unveiling of two specially commissioned Indigenous artworks at the RCH. Commissioned by the RCH Foundation as a gift to the hospital in recognition of its 150th anniversary, and made possible thanks to the support of Mr Ken Harrison AM KSJ and Mrs Jill Harrison OAM DSJ, the artworks will create a culturally significant legacy at the RCH.

The RCH150 Aboriginal Art Project consists of a four-story mural by Anangu artist Elizabeth Close in collaboration with Wurundjeri artist, Samantha Roberts, and a large scale, burnished bronze sculpture by Yamatji artist Robyne Latham.

This project has been made possible thanks to the generous support of Mr Ken Harrison AM KSJ and Mrs Jill Harrison OAM DSJ.
