  • Share

3rd of June, 2020
10:30 am - 1:00 pm

Join host Sue Hunt, Chief Executive officer RCH Foundation and guest speaker Professor Julie Bines, Head of the Clinical Nutrition Program at the RCH, the Victor and Loti Smorgon Professor of Paediatrics and Deputy Head of Department of Paediatrics at the University of Melbourne.

A renowned paediatric gastroenterologist with three decades of leadership at the RCH, Professor Bines will share the latest update on the rotavirus vaccine, the story of philanthropy behind it and the incredible vision it offers for the future.

Discovered by RCH researchers in 1973, rotavirus is a leading cause of infant illness and death in developing nations. The creation of an affordable neonatal rotavirus vaccine, easily accessed globally, has the potential to transform the lives the world’s most at-risk children, and be a step forward out of poverty for millions of families.

The 1870 Society celebrates the wonderful impact of gifts in Will for children’s health.  In Conversation events are open to anyone considering or keen to know a bit more about this special form of support.
