The Royal Children’s Hospital 150 Year Anniversary
Wednesday 9 September 2020
On this day 150 years ago, The Melbourne Free Hospital for Sick Children opened its doors with just six beds. Today, The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) Melbourne is a world leading paediatric institution, providing great care to Victoria’s sickest and most vulnerable children and young people.
From 7 to 11 September, we celebrate by sharing a collection of stories from staff, patients and the community on what the RCH means to them. We are incredibly proud of our achievements over 150 years from such humble beginnings.
